Environmental dynamics of economic growth and crashes

In this project we investigate the environmental consequences of crashes in the financial sector and the broader economy. The project is currently at a development stage.

A central question of the project is how crashes in the economy impacts the different dimensions of the environment such as the climate, biodiversity, land and water use.

Another question central question we will seek to answer is how the increasing role of credit in economic growth translates to conclusions about the relative and absolute environmental impacts on the economy.

The main collaborator on this project is Asgeir Torfason from University of Iceland and University of Gothenburg.
